Prep roundup: Pratt guides Dacula to 1-0 victory

DACULA - Dacula's Oliver Pratt had an RBI double, which drove in the winning run, in the Faclcons' 1-0 win over Peachtree Ridge on Saturday.

Pratt was 1-for-2 on the day as the Falcons improved to 5-6.

Austin Meyer (2-0) pitched four innings and gave up two hits and struck out five batters to get the win. Chris Butts got the save for Dacula.

BASEBALL

Berkmar 11, Gordon Central 1

CALHOUN - Kareem Hayes finished 3-for-4 with a double, four RBIs and two runs on Saturday, helping Berkmar beat Gordon Central 11-1.

Cody Jett was 3-for-4 and Jarrett Rivera went 2-for-2 with four runs. Mark Miller was 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Patriots (3-8). Jimmy Drake (1-3) got the win after pitching five innings, giving up one run, five hits, one walk and striking out four batters for Berkmar.

GAC 12, Paideia 2

LILBURN - Patrick Savage went 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs as the Spartans took a 12-2 win in five innings over Paideia on Saturday.

Stephen Pepper got the win after pitching all five innings and giving up four hits and striking out eight batters. Offensively, Pepper was 1-for-3 with four RBIs and Michael Hoeft went 2-for-3 with an RBI for GAC (6-1).

Parkview beats Northview, Greenbrier

LILBURN - Parkview took a 15-7 victory over Northview and the Panthers topped Greenbrier 7-1 during their second game on Saturday.

In the first game, Zack Olson pitched five innings and gave up six hits and an earned run and registered the win for the Panthers. Kenny Bellavance tossed an inning and gave up two hits and four runs.

Offensively, Bellavance was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Brandon Jacobs went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a home run. Beau Esmonde went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and Josh Hall was 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Zach Cone went 2-for-5 with an RBI and Matt Foster hit three RBIs and finished the game 3-for-3 for Parkview.

In the second game, Cone struck out six batters and gave up six hits and a run in six innings for Parkview. Cliff Carter struck out three batters for the Panthers in the seventh inning.

Foster was 2-for-4 with a home run and Cone was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Bellavance was 2-for-3 and Jacobs had an RBI and finished 2-for-3. Tom Richardson was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Parkview (9-3).

Buford 16, Cross Keys 0

ATLANTA - Buford swept Cross Keys 16-0 in three innings on Saturday.

Andy Kellogg got the win after pitching two innings and striking out one batter, while Corey Hannah pitched the third inning for Buford.

Will Bowers was 2-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs and Andy Plott was 1-for-2 with two RBIs for Buford. Trevor Warbington went 1-for-1 with an RBI for Buford (6-4).

North Gwinnett 13, Apalachee 2

SUWANEE - Chad White went 2-for-3 with a home run and an RBI helping North Gwinnett defeat Apalachee 13-2 on Saturday.

Ronnie Stewart finished the day 2-for-4 with two RBI and Josh Wright was 2-for-4 with an RBI for North (7-3).

Danny Brinkley (1-0) threw four innings and gave up a run, three hits and struck out two batters to get the win.

North Forsyth 11, North Gwinnett 7

CUMMING - Nick Jones went 2-for-4 with a grand slam on Friday night, but it wasn't enough as North Gwinnett fell to North Forsyth 11-7.

Nick McCouch went 2-for-4 and Tommy Abrahamson pitched five innings and gave up an earned run and struck out four for North Gwinnett.

BOYS SOCCER

Parkview 3, Mauldin 2

MAULDIN, S.C. - Parkview beat Mauldin (S.C.) 3-2 on Saturday.

Kofi Gwayu, Nathan Post and Brad Boone each scored a goal and Zach Spicher had an assist for the Panthers. Daniel Bullock was in goal for Parkview (6-3).
