NORCROSS - Ten people were transported to area hospitals Friday morning for injuries sustained in a three-vehicle accident involving a loaded Gwinnett County transit bus, authorities said.
The accident occurred during morning rush hour on Peachtree Parkway and Holcomb Bridge Road. Police say a vehicle struck another car, sending it into the path of the transit bus that was traveling in the opposite direction. A total of eight passengers on the transit bus were transported to Gwinnett Medical Center-Duluth with non-life threatening injuries, Gwinnett Fire Department spokesman Capt. Tommy Rutledge said. The drivers of the two private vehicles involved in the crash were transported to Gwinnett Medical Center-Lawrenceville with serious but non-life threatening injuries, he said. Their conditions were classified as stable during transport. One of the two private vehicles involved caught fire following the accident. The small blaze was quickly extinguished.More like this story
