Laser Atlanta awarded patent
NORCROSS - Laser Atlanta, a developer of precision laser measurement products, was awarded a patent for its ship proximity measurement system. The system was developed for the U.S. Navy and helps Naval ships maintain a safe distance between each other during at sea maneuvers. During those maneuvers, supply ships transport goods and fuel to the ships at sea, requiring the two ships to sail next to each other. To avoid a collision, deck personnel strung a line between the two vessels to mark their distance apart. With the development of Laser Atlanta's SPROX technology, those ships will use an electronic billboard display that reports those distances to the captain and personnel of both ships. Laser Atlanta is a privately held, debt-free company in business since 1989. For more information, visit www.laseratlanta.com.More like this story
