GNLI to hold 2008 graduation
LAWRENCEVILLE - The 2008 Gwinnett Neighborhood Leadership Institute will graduate March 29.
The 13th annual ceremony will be held at the Georgia Gwinnett College Auditorium at 1000 University Center Lane from 2 to 4:30 p.m., followed by a reception.
The eight-month leadership development program trains and supports residents and community leaders so they can promote positive changes in their neighborhoods.
Georgia Gwinnett College President Daniel Kaufman will be the keynote speaker at the ceremony.

LAWRENCEVILLE - Coach Harold Jones and James Robert "Radio" Kennedy - whose lives were brought to life in the movie "Radio" - spoke to coaches and athletes March 4 as the Top Youth and Adult Sportsman and Youth and Adult Sportsmanship Teams in the county were announced.
The ceremony was held at Winfield Hall in Duluth.
A partnership between Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation and the Gwinnett Sports Commission, the program honors youth athletic players and individuals involved in coaching and mentoring more than 50,000 children involved in sports throughout Gwinnett County.
Tommy Algard of the Duluth Youth Athletic Association was named as this year's Top Youth Sportsman in Gwinnett.
Donna "Tootie" Stepp of the Mountain Park Athletic Association was named as the Top Adult Sportsman in Gwinnett.
The Gwinnett Youth Sportsmanship Team for 2008 includes Hannah Adams of the Mill Creek Athletic Association, Tommy Algard of the Duluth Youth Athletic Association, Cole Carter of the North Gwinnett Baseball/Softball Association, William "Will" Dalrymple of the Dacula Athletic Association, Jason Farrow of the Shiloh Athletic Association, Eric Fletcher of the Norcross Soccer Association, Joshua Holston of the Mustang Athletics, Jordan McDaniel of the South Gwinnett Athletic Association, Jordan Moody of the Mountain Park Athletic Association, Cole Redman of the Dacula Soccer Club, John Topoleski of the Collins Hill Athletic Association and Stanton Truitt of the Meadowcreek/Greater Lilburn Athletic Association.
The Gwinnett Adult Sportsmanship Team for 2008 includes Terence Dickerson of the Mustang Athletics, Allen Dyer of the Grayson Athletic Association, Jeff Eckard of the Duluth Youth Athletic Association, Jeff Farrow of the Shiloh Athletic Association, Jim Guthrie of the Lawrenceville Youth Athletic Association, Fred Gutierrez of the Brookwood Football Association, Tanya McDaniel of the South Gwinnett Athletic Association, Charlie Sciara of the Mill Creek Athletic Association, Donna "Tootie" Stepp of the Mountain Park Athletic Association, Stan Truitt of the Lilburn/Meadowcreek Football/Greater Lilburn Athletic Association, Pancho Ugarte of the Atlanta Fire United Soccer Association and John Young of the Dacula Soccer Club.
A silent auction was also held during the event that raised $1,838 for scholarships for youth sports.
Money goes to Boys and Girls Club
WINDER - Winder-Barrow Community Theatre donated $565 to the Boys and Girls Club of Barrow County.
This money represents a portion of every ticket sold to the last Main Stage production of "The Man Who Came to Dinner."
