Students charged with rape
Berkmar football players accused of sex assault

LILBURN - Two Berkmar High School football players accused of raping a 15-year-old female student are being held in the Gwinnett County jail without bond.

Gwinnett County police Wednesday arrested Bobby Michael Harris, 17, and Shakie Gus Doe-Williams, 17, at Berkmar High School on charges of rape, aggravated sexual battery and aggravated child molestation.

On March 6, the girl told a secretary at the school she had been raped in her home two days earlier, the police report states. School officials then called police.

The girl told police she was talking to her friend when Harris and Doe-Williams approached her. She said she went back into her apartment to fold laundry, but she left the door open and Harris and Doe-Williams followed her inside, the report states.

Once the two were inside her home, the girl said "that she asked them to leave and they told her no because she said that she was going to have sex with them," the report states.

After they tried to touch her, the girl said she ran out of the room and tried to go to her bedroom, but Harris put his foot in the door to prevent her from closing it. The two then came into the bedroom and sexually assaulted her, according to the report.

Police arrested Harris and Doe-Williams on Wednesday at the school, officials said.

Although the incident occurred off campus, school officials were cooperating with police, said Sloan Roach, a spokeswoman for Gwinnett County Public Schools. She declined further comment because the police are investigating the incident.
