Pizza delivery man robbed
NORCROSS - A Domino's Pizza employee told Gwinnett County police he was assaulted and robbed Thursday evening when he tried to deliver a pizza to a house that turned out to be vacant. The delivery man told police after he rang the doorbell, three young men who had been behind the house on the 5000 block of Rockborough Trail near Norcross approached him. He said the group pushed him to the ground and kicked him. One of the assailants hit him over the head with a blunt object while the other two rifled through his pockets and took $80, the police report states. The three men ran away when the delivery man pulled out his phone and called 911, the report said. When the police arrived, the Domino's employee complained of a headache. Police arrest speed racer NORCROSS - A Gwinnett County police officer pulled over a motorist March 2 who appeared to be racing and traveling at about 100 mph in the southbound lanes of Interstate 85 near Indian Trail Road. The motorist was driving one of several vehicles that were cutting around traffic at a high rate of speed, a police report said. The man gave the police officer a foreign driver's license. He said he has been living in the United States for about three years. He was arrested. Man accused of shoplifting resists arrest NORCROSS - A Gwinnett County police officer chased a man who stumbled out of a grocery store Saturday night carrying something under his jacket. The man eventually stopped running and tried to hide behind a power box, a police report said. When the officer placed him under arrest, the man started kicking the officer and refused to take his hands off the object. The officer got the man into handcuffs and saw the object was a bottle of wine. The man told the officer he had stolen the wine because he didn't have any money. Rock thrown through car window NORCROSS - A man sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot of the Kendall Creek Apartments in Peachtree Corners on Saturday evening got an unwelcome surprise when someone threw a rock through the car's window. The rock broke the driver's side window, bounced off the passenger side door and hit the man in the leg, causing a small cut, according to a Gwinnett County Police Department report.
