Julia Middleton and Justin Slaughter were married Oct. 13, 2007, at the Berry College Chapel in Rome, Ga. The Rev. Michael Slaughter, father of the groom, officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Gene and Margaret Middleton of Lilburn and the granddaughter of W.H. and Blanche Tilley of Blue Ridge and the late Ed and Virginia Middleton. She is a graduate of Parkview High School and Berry College. She is employed as a teacher by Vanderlyn Elementary School.
The groom is the son of Michael and Renee Slaughter of Kennesaw. He is a graduate of Salem High School in Salem, Va., and Berry College and received a master's degree from the University of Georgia. He is employed as a actuarial assistant by Caitlin Incorporated.
Ellen Kirby of Lilburn served as the bride's maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Alli Evans of Woodstock, Martha Gaskill of Lilburn, Julia Lutz of Lilburn, Katie Mayo of Alpharetta, Carla Schwartz of Tucker, Melodie Slaughter of Kennesaw and Leanna Vaughan of Powder Springs.
First Lt. Ben King of Kingsley Field Air Force Base in Klamath Falls, Ore., served as the groom's best man.
Groomsmen were Erik Bassler of Blue Grass, Iowa, Jay Birkbeck of Kennesaw, Steve Crowley of Marietta, Jeff DerCola of Douglasville, Alex Middleton of Lilburn, Evan Nix of Norcross and Tom Sharpe of Dublin.
After a honeymoon to Asheville, N.C., the couple now resides in Kennesaw.
