NORCROSS - A Norcross man is expected to survive a Friday afternoon attack that left him riddled with bullet wounds, police said.
The shooting occurred about 3:30 p.m. at an apartment complex on Windscape Village Lane near Indian Trail Road in Norcross The victim, a 36-year-old man, was approached by two Hispanic men as he arrived home from work. The men demanded his money, and when the victim refused, he was "shot multiple times in the abdomen and leg," said Gwinnett police spokesman Officer David Schiralli. The suspects then fled the scene in a dark blue Jeep Cherokee with a temporary license plate. Schiralli said the victim made his way to his apartment, where he was met by his neighbor, who called 911. The victim was transported to an area hospital and is expected to survive, Schiralli said. He described for police the men who attacked him. The first suspect is a heavy set, bald Hispanic man, age 20 to 25, wearing a tan, button-down long-sleeve shirt and blue jeans, police said. The second suspect is an average size Hispanic man with facial hair, also age 20 to 25, wearing a button-down shirt and blue jeans. "As of right now, (investigators are) treating this as a random robbery," Schiralli said. No one else was injured, he said. Police ask anyone with information to call investigators at 770-513-5300.More like this story
