LAWRENCEVILLE - Authorities have arrested two Stone Mountain residents on several felony charges stemming from a home invasion in which a 13-year-old girl was shot.
Lorico Brandon Sanchez Daniel, 27, and Mario Arnesto Taylor, 21, are each being held in the Gwinnett County Detention Center on two counts of armed robbery, four counts of aggravated assault and one count of burglary. The two men were booked into the jail early Friday morning, according to records. The U.S. Marshals Service made one arrest and assisted in the second capture, said Gwinnett County police spokesman Cpl. David Schiralli. Schiralli said information coming in from tips on the June 6 incident led to the arrests. Daniel and Taylor are accused of breaking into a home on the 1800 block of Noble Forest Drive in the Peachtree Corners area of Norcross, according to a news release. The two allegedly demanded the resident's wallet and car keys. At some point during the robbery, the 13-year-old girl was shot. The girl, Elsia Ortiz, has been released from the hospital, Schiralli said.More like this story
