SEATTLE - The Seattle Seahawks signed kicker Brandon Coutu to multi-year deal, the team announced Wednesday.
Coutu, a Collins Hill grad, was drafted with the second of Seattle's two seventh-round picks out of Georgia in this year's NFL Draft. The Seahawks have drafted two other Gwinnett products in recent years - South Gwinnett's David Greene in the 2005 third round and Brookwood's Mansfield Wrotto in last year's fourth round. Seattle had a need at kicker after losing steady Josh Brown through free agency. Known for his strong leg, Coutu battled his way back from a torn hamstring that derailed his junior season. He made 51 of 64 career field goals (79.7 percent) as a Bulldog, was perfect on PATs and had a long kick of 58 yards.More like this story
