LAWRENCEVILLE - Georgia Bulldogs point guard Billy Patrick Humphrey was arrested Tuesday on several alcohol-related charges, jail records show.
Humphrey, 20, who now faces his third legal run-in in the last eight months, is charged with failure to maintain lane and purchasing alcohol while under the age of 21, according to Gwinnett County Jail records. He also had a blood alcohol content of .02, the limit for a person under 21, police said. He was released Tuesday on $1,667 bond, records show. Georgia basketball head coach Dennis Felton said Wednesday it was too early to rule on Humphrey's future with the team. "We are in the process of gathering all of the facts involved from the authorities and certainly we will have discussions with Billy," Felton said. "Once we have all that information, we will be better equipped to address the situation." Humphrey, a star athlete at Dacula and the Post's player of the year in 2005, has been arrested three times in the last year. In February, he was arrested by Athens-Clarke County police and charged with underage alcohol possession and failure to obey a traffic control device. In November 2007, he was charged by UGA police with felony possession of a weapon on school property. Sports editor Will Hammock contributed to this report.More like this story
