Man faces child sex charges

LAWRENCEVILLE - A 31-year-old Lilburn man faces several sex-related charges involving a female minor, jail records show.

Thomas Hartridge Bacot was arrested Thursday and charged with one count of felony sexual exploitation of a minor and two misdemeanor counts of electronic transmission of obscene material to a minor, according to an arrest warrant.

He was released on $16,800 bond Friday, jail records show. An initial hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday.

On April 11, Bacot allegedly possessed 10 sexually explicit images of the minor - a felony - sent her a picture of a male private part, and had sexually explicit chats with her over the Web, according to Bacot's arrest warrants, which were taken out by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

It is unknown how old the girl in question is. The Gwinnett Daily Post does not identify the victims of sex crimes.

Bacot could not be reached for comment Monday. A message left with the GBI special agent who applied for the warrants was not immediately returned.

Bacot's alleged behavior is not limited to Gwinnett County, authorities said.

A Forsyth County Sheriff's Office official - who did not wish to be identified - confirmed that Bacot posted a $12,221 bond Monday afternoon in connection with an April charge he allegedly possessed computer pornography involving a minor in that county.
