William J. (Bill) Hofius, age 83, of Snellville, passed away June 9th, 2008 after an extended illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Margaret L. Hofius, daughter, Linda Warr of Ellenwood, GA, daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Dan Roth of Oshkosh, WI, Mary and John Van Stippen of Neenah, WI, sons and daughters-in-law, John and Jerrie Hofius of Lawrenceville, GA, Bill and Carole Hofius of Marietta, GA, Tom and Grace Hofius of Gulf Breeze, FL, Bruce and Brandy Hofius of Stockbridge, GA, son, Brian Hofius of Orlando, FL, brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Patti Hofius of Lore City, OH, sister and brother-in-law, Dorcas and Bill Murray of Milwaukee, WI, 23 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Mr. Hofius was a World War II veteran where he was a Chief Petty Officer by the age of twenty and served in the South Pacific. He graduated from University of Wisconsin at Madison with a degree in Accounting where he was also a member of Beta Alpha Psi fraternity, later he went on to become a CPA. He was a member of Toastmasters, the American Legion, Elks Club and the National Association of Auditors. He retired from Employer's Insurance of Wausau after 27 years of service retiring as an Audit Manager. His second career of twenty years after retirement was being an avid golfer and he was a member of the Senior Golf League of Georgia. He enjoyed woodworking and raising his children. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather that will truly be missed. A Mass Celebrating the Life of William John Hofius will be held Saturday, June 14th, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St. John Neumann Catholic Church with Monsignor David Tally serving as the Celebrant. The family will receive friends after the Mass in the Fellowship Hall. Those desiring may make donations to the St. John Neumann Catholic Church Building fund in Memory of William John Hofius.
