Police say off-duty deputy kills man after wife slain

STONE MOUNTAIN - DeKalb County police said an off-duty sheriff's deputy shot and killed a man who he said fatally shot his wife at his home.

Police said they received a shortly after 1 p.m. Monday and investigators found two people dead at the home near Stone Mountain.

Officer Mekka Parish says the deputy said the man, whom he did not know, shot and killed his wife, then he fatally shot the man. Parish says investigators are trying to determine whether anyone in the home knew the man.

Identities have not been released.
