LAWRENCEVILLE - The trial for an Alpharetta man charged with first-degree vehicular homicide for allegedly killing a motorist while driving drunk in Suwanee is scheduled to begin this week.
Police believe Seung Chun Park ran a red light on July 3, 2005, while traveling south on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard at Moore Road.
His 1998 Chevrolet Van slammed into a 2004 Toyota Camry driven by Stacey Nichols Camacho, according to an arrest warrant.
Camacho died two days later from injuries sustained in the collision. Park is also charged with failure to obey a traffic control device.
A Gwinnett Superior Court official said Park's case will be adjudicated by Judge Warren Davis.
Park was booked in the Gwinnett County Jail on the DUI charge in the early morning hours of July 4 and released that day. Six month later, he was arrested on vehicular homicide and traffic charges, jail records show.
He was released on $34,300 bond Jan. 19, 2006.
