NORCROSS - Police are searching for two suspects who shot a 13-year-old girl during an apparent home invasion early Friday evening, authorities said.
The girl, who was not identified, received non-life-threatening injuries, according to Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. David Schiralli. About 5:45 p.m. Friday, two black men forced their way into an apartment in the 1800 block of Noble Forest Drive in Norcross, Schiralli said. Inside, the men held a family of four at gunpoint and demanded the father's wallet and vehicle. During the robbery, one of the men shot the man's 13-year-old daughter. The duo then fled in family's van, described as a blue Chevy Astro. The teen received was transported to an area hospital where she remained late Friday. Authorities recovered the van in the same apartment complex about an hour after the incident. It is unknown how the suspects left the scene, Schiralli said. The victims were able to provide a description of one suspect. He is described as a tall, black man with dreadlocks, between 20 and 30 years old weighing between 200 to 230 pounds. No further details were provided.More like this story
