Pike Nursery headquarters will relocate to Duluth

DULUTH - Pike Nursery is relocating its headquarters from Norcross to an 8,800-square-foot facility in the Park Summit building at 2675 Breckinridge Blvd. in Duluth.

The move comes after the company filed for bankruptcy protection last year. Armstrong Garden Centers acquired the company last March and plans to keep 16 Pike Nurseries stores in metro Atlanta and one in Charlotte, N.C., open under the Pike name, said Mike Kunce, president and CEO of Pike Nurseries and Armstrong Garden Centers.

Pike Nurseries plans to open two new locations in Atlanta and four in Charlotte, within two or three years, Kunce said.

"Armstrong has retained all of the retail nursery employees and almost all of the retail office staff except for the accounting department, which is in California," Kunce said.

Pike Nurseries opened in Atlanta 50 years ago.

"Mr. William Pike is still involved in the business," Kunce said.
