Police search for carjacking suspects

LAWRENCEVILLE - Gwinnett police are asking the public for help in identifying three suspects who allegedly carjacked two men at a Lawrenceville apartment complex in early May.

The suspects, black men in their late teens to early 20s, allegedly carjacked and robbed Omari Grey and his passenger May 6 at the Richmond on the Fairway apartments, located in the 3300 block of Fairway Oaks Drive in Lawrenceville. Two days later, the car - a white Honda Civic - was located by police on Hampton Hill Court in Lawrenceville, Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. David Schiralli said.

In the day's following the incident, police say the trio was photographed by video surveillance cameras at an undisclosed local business using Grey's debit and credit card.

The undated video clips released by authorities show one man with short hair wearing a black shirt, baggy jeans and a long gold chain and another sporting dreadlocks with a white T-shirt, droopy jeans and a black backpack. A third suspect is shown wearing a black hoodie and a large beaded necklace.

"At this time, the investigation is still on going and investigators are continuing to follow leads," Schiralli said.

A preliminary investigation indicates that Grey and another man were in Grey's white Honda Civic in front of the apartments when two suspects confronted them with guns, Schiralli said. The suspects then demanded their valuables and drove away in the Honda with a third male.

Anyone with information about the incident or know the identities of the males in the pictures are urged to contact investigators at 770-513-5300.
