Charles Lee Mensinger, Sr.

CHARLES Charles Lee Mensinger, Sr., of Auburn, GA, formerly of Lawrenceville, died June 1, 2008. He would have been 87 on August 12. He was preceded in death by Frances Katherine Rudolph Mensinger who died January 23, 1982. They were married for 42 years. She was the mother of his three children. He later married Pauline Kennedy Wood in November of 1982, who died in September 2001. His children include, Frances Mensinger Wilkerson & husband Bobby, Carole Mensinger Michael & husband Douglas, and Charles Lee Mensinger, Jr. and wife Wilda (Johnson) Mensinger. His living grandchildren are Nancy & Kevin Parson, Andy & Linda Wilkerson, Eddie & Shelia Michael, Chris Michael, Scott & Lisa Michael, Cindy & Steve Emerson and Charles Lee Mensinger III. He was preceded in death by his grandchildren: Katherine Ann Michael and Robert (Bob) Wilkerson and his great granddaughters Kahree Ann Michael and Ashland Kate Emerson. His parents were Milton A. Mensinger, Sr. and Hattie Lorraine Echols Mensinger. He was also preceded in death by his older brother, Milton A. Mensinger, Jr. He is also survived by his Sister-in-Law, Lou Rudolph Davenport, Shirley Kennedy Vandeford, and Jeanette Kennedy Sheffield. There are also many living great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends – John & Jeanne Silaz. Mr. Mensinger owned and operated Lawrenceville Plumbing &Heating from 1944 until he retired in 1983. He was a member of Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church for four decades where he served as an officer for many years. At the time of his death, he was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Winder. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was a faithful follower of Christ. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the First Presbyterian Church of Winder or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in memory of Charles Lee Mensinger, Sr. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at 3:30 PM at the Lawrenceville Chapel of Tom M. Wages Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment at Gwinnett Memorial Park. Tom M.
