Mr. Joe Thornton, age 85, of Buford, GA passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2008. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norman Nell Cantrell Thornton; son, Joe Thornton, Jr.; and daughters, Mary Helen Thornton and Daisy Viola McCleary. He is survived by his Daughters and Sons-In-Law: Eula Mae and Fred Brooks, Buford, GA; Josephine and Eddie Fred Ramsey, Buford, GA; Dianne Cunningham, Buford, GA; Sixteen Grandchildren: Twenty-seven Great Grandchildren: Thirteen Great Great-Grandchildren: Sisters: Elease Daniels, Buford, GA; Dorothy Lee Cook, Buford, GA, Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins, Special Friends: Paul Collins, Ruth Penland, Leroy Kellum. Mr. Thornton was born July 9, 1922 in Buford, GA. He was retired from Bona Allen Company. He was a member of Union Baptist Church in Buford, GA. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Union Baptist Church with Dr. Kary Harris and Pastor Betty Sue Earls officiating. Interment will follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Arrangements By: Junior E.
