Stephanie Marie Rowan and Thomas Burton Bennewitz were married May 31 at the Snellville United Methodist Church. Minister John Baker of Grace Fellowship Church officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Rowan of Lilburn.
She is a 2003 graduate of Parkview High School and a 2008 graduate of the University of Georgia, where she received a master's degree in early childhood education.
She will begin teaching in the fall at Morgan County Primary School in Madison.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Bennewitz of Watkinsville.
He is a 2003 graduate of Oconee County High School and a 2007 graduate of the University of Georgia.
He works for the Athens Banner-Herald.
Tricia McWhorter of Lilburn served as the bride's maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Gini Bell of Athens, Beth Finlayson of Augusta, Claire Hudlow of Braselton, Renee Jackson of Durham, N.C., and Swati Rogers of Duluth.
Flower girls were Rachel and Nicole Daniel of Greenville, S.C.
Walker Keadle of Lilburn served as the groom's best man.
Groomsmen were John Bennewitz of Watkinsville, David Desso of Watkinsville, Ryan Hunt of Athens, Andy Rowan of Los Angeles, Calif., and Austin Rowan of Lilburn.
After a honeymoon in Antigua, West Indies, the couple now resides in Athens.
