Body of missing woman found
TRENTON - The body of a missing northwest Georgia woman was found Thursday in Cloudland Canyon State Park after a three-day search. Search teams, tracking dogs and a helicopter crew had been scouring the park for 46-year-old Judy Charlene Payne of Rock Spring since her car was found by a ranger Monday night. She was last seen by her husband as she headed to work in the Chattanooga area about 7 a.m. Monday, according to Kim Hatcher, spokeswoman for Georgia State Parks. Personal belongings had been left in Payne's black Mazda Miata, which showed no evidence of a break-in or other crime. Boil-water advisory ends in DeKalb DECATUR - A boil-water advisory issued for DeKalb County has been lifted. The Atlanta-area county issued a news release Thursday afternoon saying that county watershed management officials have determined the water supply is now safe for drinking and normal use. The county said customers will not have to flush any lines. Three charged with theft of books ATHENS - Two former University of Georgia employees and a former student have been charged with a felony for stealing $11,000 worth of textbooks from university storage rooms. University police said former employees Rachel Beth Ogg of Winterville and Polly Teresa Echols of Lexington and former student Lakisha Dion Sanders of Marietta were charged with theft by taking, conspiring to defraud the state and theft by deception.More like this story
