'Dark Knight' sets box office one-day record

LOS ANGELES - Batman's joust with the Joker has set another box office record.

Stoked by fan fever over the manic performance of the late Heath Ledger as the Joker, 'The Dark Knight' set a one-day box office record with $66.4 million on opening day, Warner Bros. head of distribution Dan Fellman said Saturday.

The movie's Friday haul surpassed the previous record of $59.8 million set last year by 'Spider-Man 3.' 'The Dark Knight' might break the opening-weekend record of $151.1 million, also held by 'Spider-Man 3.'

Jolie, twins slip out of hospital

PARIS - Angelina Jolie has left the building. Oh, and so have the twins.

Before dawn Saturday, the Hollywood superstar and her newborn twins left the French Riviera hospital where she gave birth a week ago, the hospital said in a statement.

'The mother and her babies are doing very well,' reported the Foundation Lenval hospital, located in the southern Mediterranean city of Nice.

McMahon sues over injury

LOS ANGELES - Ed McMahon sued a hospital, two doctors and an investment tycoon Friday over a neck injury he has said has left him unable to work, a circumstance he has blamed for his recent money woes.

The lawsuit seeks an unspecified amount, claiming negligence, battery, elder abuse and intentional infliction of emotional distress. It was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.
