SUGAR HILL - Need a respite from the work week on the cheap?
Sugar Hill has some family friendly options.
The city of Sugar Hill will continue its Reels at Robinson film series Friday with a showing of "The Spiderwick Chronicles."
Released this year, "The Spiderwick Chronicles" is a fantasy adaptation of Holly Black and Tony DiTerlizzi's bestselling series of the same name. Set in Spiderwick Estate in New England, the film follows the adventures of Jared Grace and his family - recent New York transplants - as they discover fairies, battle goblins and other magical and mischievous creatures.
Unable to explain the strange disappearances and accidents that seem to be happening on a daily basis, the family blames Jared. But when Jared and his brother and sister begin to investigate, they uncover the truth of the Spiderwick Estate and the creatures that inhabit it.
The film, rated PG, is free to the general public.
E.E. Robinson Park Amphitheater is located at 850 Level Creek Road in Sugar Hill. All movies begin at dusk. For more information, call the City of Sugar Hill Recreation Department at 770-831-7413.
