On July 15, 2008, Ruby Todd Collier fulfilled God's plan for her journey through this life. She has joined the faithful gathered at the river that flows by His Throne. Ruby was born on June 20, 1914 in Meriweather County, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gomer W. Collier. Ruby is survived by two of her sisters, Madeline T. Mitchell of Covington and Juanita T. Joy of Grayson; and, many nieces and nephews. Aunt Ruby leaves a legacy of life lived without regret. As formidable as Georgia clay, Ruby loved her God, her family, and her friends. Never afraid to speak her mind, she often advised on the essence of life. From faithful worship, and honest work, to unfettered advice ranging from practicing forgiveness to skipping that second piece of pound cake, Ruby was a vibrant participant and keen observer. Those who sought sugar - coated answers were wise to never ask her opinion which was likely to be offered, regardless, with spontaneous affection and total candor. Generous in goodness, extravagant in the way she loved, Aunt Ruby was surely one of God's most vibrant spirits. Friends and family will join in celebrating her life. The service will be held at Ruby and Gomer's home church, County Line Baptist Church, Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 3:00 PM. Reverend Clifton Brown will officiate. Please dress in casual, barbeque - proof clothing, and wear pink if possible. A fellowship meal will be served at the Church's camp hall. Aunt Ruby has requested that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to County Line Baptist Church and that in lieu of tears, we rejoice in Our Heavenly Father's promise of life everlasting. County Line Baptist Church, 3325 Highway 162 South, Covington, Ga. 30016. Wheeler Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements. (770) 786-7111
