Seven-vehicle accident causes minor injuries
LAWRENCE-VILLE - Several people suffered minor injuries in a seven-vehicle accident Saturday afternoon on Interstate 85 North near Ga. Highway 316, an official said. Paramedics treated the injured at the scene, said Capt. Thomas Rutledge, spokesman for the Gwinnett County Fire Department. No one was transported to the hospital. The accident happened just before 3 p.m. Saturday, Rutledge said. Restaurant kitchen damaged in fire LAWRENCE-VILLE - The kitchen of a Caribbean restaurant was heavily damaged Saturday morning by a fire, said Capt. Thomas Rutledge, spokesman for the Gwinnett County Fire Department. The 6:30 a.m. fire at All Nations Caribbean Restaurant, located in a strip shopping center on Hurricane Shoals Road near Curtis Road, sent smoke throughout the establishment, Rutledge said. The cause of the fire is unknown, Rutledge said. The restaurant was closed at the time, and no injuries were reported. Gas leak leads to evacuations NORCROSS - A gas leak caused authorities to evacuate three homes Saturday, said Capt. Thomas Rutledge, spokesman for the Gwinnett County Fire Department. The leak happened just before 11 a.m. at Williams Road and Bishops Circle when a backhoe struck a 2-inch gas line, Rutledge said. The homes were evacuated as a precaution, Rutledge said. The residents were allowed to return about an hour and a half later.More like this story
