Jeffery Sawdey received an appointment to become a Warrant Officer in the U.S. Marine Corps in December and graduated in May from The Basic School in Quantico, Va., to fulfill his appointment. After graduation, he was assigned as Platoon Commander, Ammunition Company, 4th SupBn 4th MLG in Greenville, S.C.

Sawdey is an honor graduate of the Ammunition/Explosive Ordinance School and the Ammunition Manager's Course. Preceding his appointment as Warrant Officer, he served a tour in Rome and was mobilized in 2003 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Navy Ensign Charles E. Broun, a 2004 graduate of Wesleyan High School in Norcross, recently graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., and was commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy.

Navy Ensign Ryan A. Dozier, son of Eleanor D. Dozier of Snellville and Charles Grier of Atlanta, recently graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., and was commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy.

Dozier is a 2003 graduate of Lithonia High School.

Marine Corps 2nd Lt. Daniel L. Golden, son of Debra K. and Robert D. Golden of Conyers recently graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., and was commissioned as an officer in the United States Marine Corps.

Golden is a 2004 graduate of Heritage High School in Conyers.

Navy Ensign Amy A. Hunt, daughter of Cheryl and David W. Hunt of John's Creek, recently graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., and was commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy.

Hunt is a 2004 graduate of North Springs High School in Roswell.

Army National Guard Spec. Eric R. Herrlein, son of Robert A. Herrlein of Lilburn, has graduated from Basic Combat training at Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla.

Herrlein graduated in 1992 from Brookwood High School.
