Youth Roundup: Collins Hill wins Tri County All-Star championship title

The Collins Hill 8U All-Star softball team won the Tri County All-Star Championship.

The Eagles defeated Mill Creek 15-10 in the championship game after coming back from a fourth inning 6-0 deficit.

Collins Hill placed second at the pre-tri County All Stars tournament, which featured 20 teams and took third in the gold division at the South Summer Classic.

Aaliyah Bryant, May Chanthavong, Elizabeth Hellsten, Amanda Hopkins, Skylar Jenkins, Nia Lee, Payton Lindsey, Sophie Mooney, Katherine Norris, Madolyn Packer, Kristen Rogers and Courtney Roley.

The team is coached by Jason Lindsey, Rob Packer, Rick Hellsten, Kobi Kilgore and Dustin Bryant.


SGAA all-star take second

The minor league all-stars from South Gwinnett Athletic Association in Snellville came in second place in their division for the all-star District 7 tournament at Grayson Athletic Association.

The 9- to 10-year-old boys are now on their way to the state tournament, which will be held in Manchester July 12th.

The SGAA team is one of three going to state from District 7.

Team members and coaches are Tim Gaines, Scott Towe, Todd Leicht, Seth Johnston, A.J. Towe, Will Ethridge, Devon Ford, Mason Gaines, Lamar McCoy, Tyreese Johnson, Chris Brown, Aidan Leicht, Matthew Corn, Hunter Berkley and Jordon Carswell.

The team is coached by Scott Towe, Tim Gaines and Todd Leicht.

Eagles capture Dixie state title

The Collins Hill Eagles Pony baseball team clinched the Dixie baseball state championship June 27.

The Eagles beat the Parkview All-Stars 21-11 to claim the title.

The team is coached by John Walrath, Jim Kronenberger, Alan Stedman and Joe Castro.
