SNELLVILLE - The reversible lane system on U.S. Highway 78 from Stone Drive to Killian Hill Road/Bethany Church Road will be removed today beginning at 7 p.m.
Once completed, there will be three travel lanes in each direction and a concrete median and sidewalks, Georgia Department of Transportation spokesman Mark McKinnon said. Continuing the trend that has accompanied other work on the project, motorists can expect nightly lane closures beginning at 7 p.m. and lasting until 5 a.m. weekdays and 7 a.m. on weekends. Once the current section is completed work will commence from Killian Hill Road/Bethany Church Road to Highpoint Road. McKinnon also said the section from East Park Place to Stone Drive is now complete. He said the entire U.S. 78 project should be finished by Nov. 30, 2009, costing just under $31.5 million.More like this story
