Notice is hereby given in compliance with Georgia Code 22-2-109 that the Georgia Department of Transportation has approved the Location and Design of this project.
The date of location approval is June 5, 2008.
The project is the extension of McGinnis Ferry Road from Satellite Boulevard across I-85 to Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road. As part of this project, Northbrook Parkway will be extended from its existing northern terminus to the intersection of Old Peachtree Road to Gwinco Boulevard. From that point Old Peachtree Road will be widened to match the new typical section. The project is located entirely within Gwinnett County and small portions are with the City of Suwanee. The project is located within land district 7 and land lots 127, 151, 152, 153, 168, 169 and 195.
The McGinnis Ferry Extension project is a widening and new location project. McGinnis Ferry Road is proposed to be extended from Satellite Boulevard to Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road with a four-lane divided typical section. A new bridge over Interstate 85 is proposed. Northbrook Parkway will be extended to the intersection of Old Peachtree Road and Gwinco Boulevard at which point Old Peachtree Road will be widened to the intersection of Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road. Northbrook Parkway and Old Peachtree Road are proposed to be four-lane divided roads as well.

CALL FOR SPECIAL
POWERS UNDER THE
TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF GWINNETT COUNTY:
Pursuant to House Bill 1208 passed during the 2008 Legislative Session of the Georgia General Assembly which calls for an election on the earliest practical date to determine the question whether the Act Shall be approved which authorizes Gwinnett County to exercise redevelopment powers under the Redevelopment Powers Law as it may be amended from time to time, the Gwinnett County Board of Registrations and Elections (hereinafter known as the "Board"), Elections Superintendent for Gwinnett County, is charged with the duty of calling for the Special Election to be held, as directed by the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners, in conjunction with the July 15, 2008 General Primary.
Therefore, the Board does hereby issue the call for said Special Election to be held on July 15, 2008 in conjunction with the General Primary. The purpose of said Special Election is to place before the voters of Gwinnett County, for approval or rejection, the question stated in House Bill 1208 concerning the approval of the Act which authorizes Gwinnett County to exercise redevelopment powers under the Redevelopment Powers Law, as it may be amended from time to time, to-wit:

Shall the Act be approved which authorizes Gwinnett County to exercise redevelopment powers under the "Redevelopment Powers Law," as it may be amended from time to time, for the purpose of improving economic and social conditions in depressed areas within the county?"
All persons desiring to vote for approval of the Act shall vote "YES" and those persons desiring to vote for rejection of the Act shall vote "NO". If more than one-half of the votes cast on such question are for approval of the Act, it shall become of full force and effect immediately. If the Act is not so approved, it shall not become effective and shall be automatically repealed on January 1, 2009.
The Special Election shall be conducted in all of the precincts of Gwinnett County. The polls will open at 7:00 o'clock A.M. and close at 7:00 o'clock P.M. The last day for qualified residents of Gwinnett County to register to vote to be eligible to vote in the Special Election is June 16, 2008.
This call is issued and published pursuant to Official Code of Georgia Annotated §§ 21-2-2(3) and 21-2-540, and in accordance with House bill 1208 of the 2008 Legislative Session of the Georgia General Assembly.

This notice contains information for special education students who have attended Buford City Schools. Federal regulations under 34 C.F.R. Part 300 (I.D.E.A.) allows school districts to destroy special education records/files when they are no longer needed for the education of the child. Special education records for students whose birthdates fall between 1/1/1985 and 12/31/1985 will be destroyed unless Buford City Schools is notified by July 31, 2008. Special education students have the right to request copies of these records for their files. All requests should be made in writing and sent to Buford City Schools Central Office by July 31, 2008.

Whereas the Planning Commission and the Mayor and City Council of the City of Snellville have proposed to amend the Development Regulations, Section 4.2, Land Disturbance Permits of Article 4, Permits Required for Development or Construction and to amend the Snellville Zoning Ordinance, Article 21, Tree Preservation Ordinance of The City of Snellville, Georgia. A Planning Commission meeting, as provided by law, will be held on July 22nd, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. followed by a Public Hearing by the Mayor and City Council on July 28th, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. at the Snellville City Hall Council Chambers, 2342 Oak Road to consider said request.

In accordance with O.C.G.A. §19-15-3(o), the number of child death cases received by the Gwinnett County Child Fatality Review Committee from January 1, 2007 to December 31, 2007 was fifty-six(56). Of this number, the committee reviewed and submitted a report to the Georgia Child Fatality Review Panel for thirty-six(36) child death cases that met the criteria for review.
