Gwinnett Tech to host regulatory affairs seminar

LAWRENCEVILLE - Gwinnett Technical College is hosting an information session this month to introduce college students and professionals to the regulatory affairs industry, which is part of the biotechnology sector.

The program, scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 17 at Gwinnett Tech's Busbee Center, is presented by the Georgia Bioscience Technology Institute - a collaboration between the biotechnology program at Athens Technical College and the bioscience program at Gwinnett Tech - and the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society, the leading worldwide member organization devoted to the health product regulatory profession, a news release states.

A career coach with 20 years of experience will talk about effective career transition. In addition, a former Georgia Tech student will discuss how he chose the regulatory affairs career path, which allowed him to enter the pharmaceutical industry as a regulatory affairs assistant.

The program will offer participants a networking opportunity as well as insights from seasoned veterans with regulatory affairs, quality systems, clinical studies, laboratory and manufacturing practice experience.

The registration fee is $10. Those interested can call Dr. Philip Gibson at Gwinnett Tech at 678-226-6282 for more information.
