Registration open for annual Fire Department race

LAWRENCEVILLE - The Gwinnett County Fire Department is holding its annual 5K Run/Walk on July 12 at Tribble Mill Park.

Registration begins at 7 a.m., and the race starts at 8:30 a.m. Runners and walkers can register in advance for $15 or pay $20 on race day.

All proceeds benefit Gwinnett County Fire personnel and their families who are facing financial hardship due to serious illness, injury, death or other personal emergency.

Duluth job fair scheduled

DULUTH - The Georgia Department of Labor's Gwinnett Career Center and Goodwill of North Georgia are co-sponsoring a job fair next week.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 10 at the Goodwill Center at 1502 Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth.

The job fair will feature employers seeking to fill current and future job openings. Applicants should bring several copies of their resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings.

Employers expected to participate include ADT Protech, Arby's, Career Training Concepts, Clark-Allen Substitute Services, Davis Company, Georgia National Guard, Global Employment Solution, Gwinnett County Police Department, Home Depot, Ikon Office Solutions, Kroger, LCP Hospitality, Primerica, Quality Care for Children, Randstad, U.S. Army, Volt Services Group and Wika Instrument Corp.
