BOND ELECTION

TO THE

QUALIFIED VOTERS

OF THE CITY OF BUFORD:

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on February 5, 2008, an election will be held at the regular and established polling places in all the election precincts of the City of Buford at which time there will be submitted to the qualified voters of the City of Buford for their determination the question of whether or not general obligation bonds in the aggregate principal amount of $10,000,000 shall be issued by the City of Buford for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, and equipping additional city facilities, including a multi-purpose facility to house and in furtherance of the following: (i) recreation and athletics, (ii) fine arts, (iii) education, (iv) community-wide and campus-wide events and programs, and (v) administrative offices, and other buildings and facilities useful in connection therewith, acquiring property, real and personal, necessary therefore, and paying expenses incident thereto. The bonds, if so authorized, shall be dated either the first day of the month during which the bonds are actually issued and delivered or the first day of the month immediately preceding the month during which the bonds are actually issued and delivered, shall be in the denomination of $5,000 each or integral multiples thereof, shall be numbered from R-1 upwards in accordance with their issuance as shown by the registration books kept with respect to such bonds, shall bear interest payable January 1, 2009, and payable annually thereafter on January 1 in each year, at an interest rate or rates not to exceed 5% per annum, until paid, subject to redemption at the option of the City prior to their respective maturities upon the terms and conditions to be determined by the Commission, and maturing on January 1 in the years and amounts, as follows:

The bonds may be made subject to redemption at the option of the City of Buford prior to their respective maturities upon the terms and conditions to be determined by the City Commission of the City of Buford.

The ballots to be used at the election shall have written or printed thereon substantially the following:

The several places for holding said election shall be at the regular and established voting precincts of the election districts of the City of Buford, and the polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the date fixed for the election. Pursuant to O.C.G.A. Section 21-2-224(a) and (b)(1), since the election is held in conjunction with a presidential preference primary, the registration deadline for such election shall be the close of business on the fifth Monday or, if such Monday is a legal holiday, by the close of business on the following business day prior to the date of such election: to wit, January 7, 2008.

In accordance with O.C.G.A. Section 36-82-1(d), as amended, any brochures, listings, or other advertisements issued by the City or by any other person, firm, corporation or association with the knowledge and consent of City shall be deemed to be a statement of intention of said City concerning the use of the proceeds of the bonds and shall be binding on the City in the expenditure of any such bond proceeds or interest received from such bond proceeds which have been invested, unless the City uses such bond proceeds for the retirement of bonded indebtedness, in the manner provided for in O.C.G.A. Section 36-82-1(d).

Those residents of the City of Buford qualified to vote in the election shall be determined in all respects in accordance with the election laws of the State of Georgia.

This notice is given pursuant to a resolution and ordinance of the City Commission of the City of Buford, adopted on the 20th day of December, 2007.

Notice is hereby given that an election will be held in the City of Grayson, Georgia, on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at the Grayson Senior Center, 1 Park Drive, to elect and two members of the City Council. The terms of office for Post 3 Council Member David Schroder and Post 1 Council Member Tammy Shumate expire on the first Monday in January 2009 and their successors are required to be elected in the municipal election scheduled for November 4, 2008; and

Any person who is presently registered as a voter in said City but who now resides outside the city limits is not eligible to vote in said election. All duly qualified electors of the City of Grayson, Georgia, are urged to participate. Those qualified to vote at said election shall be determined in all respects in accordance and in conformity with the laws of the State of Georgia, and

Polls will open for this November 4, 2008 election at 7:00 a.m. and will close at 7:00 p.m. at the Grayson Senior Center, located at 1 Park Drive, Grayson, Georgia. Computation of votes casts in the November 4, 2008 election will be conducted in the Grayson Senior Center at time poll closes. If no candidate receives a majority of the votes cast, a run-off election shall be held between the candidates receiving the two highest number of votes. Such elections shall be held not earlier than the twenty-first day after the day of the first election. The election shall not be held earlier than the twenty-first day after the day of the first election. The Georgia Election Code of the State of Georgia and the City Charter governs this and all City of Grayson elections. A copy of the ordinance and/or resolution calling for the election will be on file, together with other relevant documents, for inspection at the City Clerk's Office, 475 Grayson Parkway, Grayson, GA., between the hours of 8:30 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
