Empty farm house destroyed in fire
DACULA - A vacant house was destroyed by a fire early Saturday.
The blaze engulfed the empty single-story farm house at Indian Shoals Road at Bold Springs Road in Dacula, said Capt. Thomas Rutledge, spokesman for the Gwinnett County Fire Department.
Rutledge said the cause of the fire is undetermined.
The blaze began just before midnight and was under control at 12:24 a.m., Rutledge said. Firefighters stayed at the scene until 3 a.m.
Rutledge said passing motorists called to report that the 3,000-square-foot building was on fire.
Grease fire sends smoke through home
DULUTH - No one was injured in a small kitchen fire Friday.
Firefighters saw light smoke coming from a townhome at 2192 Meadow Peak Road in the Landings at Sugarloaf around 10:20 p.m. Friday. They extinguished a small fire on the kitchen stove, said Capt. Thomas Rutledge, spokesman for the Gwinnett County Fire Department.
The grease fire spread to the cabinets, and no one was injured in the blaze, Rutledge said.
No one hurt in bathroom fire
LAWRENCEVILLE - A small fire in a bathroom basement was accidental, the fire department's spokesman said.
Capt. Thomas Rutledge, spokesman for the Gwinnett County Fire Department, said no one was injured in the fire on Brandy Lane at 9:41 p.m. Saturday.
