Collins Hill wrestling cracks nation's top 20

The Collins Hill wrestling team is ranked No. 20 in the nation, according to Amateur Wrestling News' rankings released on Monday.

Collins Hill was the only Georgia school in the rankings and one of three teams from the Southeast ranked.

North Gwinnett's Anyaorah picks Portland State

SUWANEE - North Gwinnett's most decorated football senior class just added another feather in its cap with the recent commitment by Eloka Anyaorah to Portland State.

The 6-foot, 203-pound linebacker gave his verbal pledge to the Oregon school, which is coached by former Atlanta Falcons coach Jerry Glanville, who is known for his attacking defenses.

That would seem to make the program a perfect fit for Anyaorah, who was North's third-leading tackler on the season with 86 combined stops and finished second on the team - and fourth in Gwinnett County - with 91/2 sacks.

"He's been a disrupter of opponents' offenses," North coach Bob Sphire said of Anyaorah. "What's really exciting is that he wreaks havoc. And Jerry Glanville likes his defense to be aggressive. Plus, I think it's a program on the rise. So, I think it's a good fit."

Anyaorah becomes the fifth Bulldog senior to make a verbal commitment following their 13-2 season and Class AAAAA state runner-up finish, joining Eric Eberhardt (Wofford), Steve Buffington (Tennessee Tech), Robert Pritchard (Central Florida) and Marquese Quiles (Bowling Green).

Norcross grad suspended for two UGA games

ATHENS - Georgia football head coach Mark Richt has doubled the one-game suspension initially issued to redshirt freshman fullback Fred Munzenmaier for his arrest last weekend on alcohol-related charges.

"I'm adding a second game to the original one-game suspension after reading the complete police report and discussing it with Fred," Richt said. "The way he handled the situation with the police officer was totally inappropriate and demonstrated a lack of respect for authority."

Munzenmaier, a Norcross grad, will miss the games against Georgia Southern and Central Michigan.
