LAWRENCEVILLE - Prosecutors believe Yang Hee Kim is responsible for the August stabbing death of his girlfriend in Duluth.
On Wednesday, a Gwinnett grand jury agreed. Kim, 32, of Lawrenceville was indicted this week on charges stemming from the Aug. 21 murder on North Berkeley Lake Road. Kim allegedly killed his girlfriend, Young Mi LeMasters. The victim was stabbed multiple times, and she died at Gwinnett Medical Center about three hours after the attack, according to a warrant. The two were not married but had a relationship, said Dan Mayfield, deputy chief assistant district attorney. Mayfield declined to discuss what Kim's motive in slaying the woman may have been. Kim faces charges of murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a knife during the commission of a felony. If convicted of murder, he could face up to life in prison or the death penalty, according to Georgia law. Kim's arraignment is expected within a month.More like this story
