NORCROSS - A Cobb County man has been charged with Gwinnett's first homicide of 2008.
Police believe Heriberto "Erick" Bonilla-Rojas, 22, of Mableton, was the trigger man in a Jan. 5 shooting outside a night club near Norcross. The suspect was arrested by Cobb County authorities following a traffic stop Saturday, and was later transported to Gwinnett, said Officer David Schiralli, Gwinnett police spokesman. Bonilla-Rojas remains without bond at the Gwinnett County Jail, charged with one count of murder. Jail records show he is a self-employed construction worker. The victim, Rafael Anguiano, 29, of Lawrenceville, was gunned down outside a Jimmy Carter Boulevard night club called Los Recuerdos. Anguiano was shot once in the face and twice in the back just after 3 a.m., according to a warrant issued for Bonilla-Rojas' arrest. Anguiano later died at a local hospital. Police said he was entering a vehicle with a 23-year-old female in the rear parking lot of the club when a man began firing shots. The woman was unharmed.More like this story
