NORCROSS - A 15-year-old boy was shot in the shoulder Monday afternoon.
The victim, who police will not identify because he is a juvenile, was hit by a bullet while standing outside 5264 Williams Road, near Singleton and Indian Trail-Lilburn roads, said Officer David Schiralli, spokesman for the Gwinnett County Police Department.
Schiralli said the Hispanic victim was standing outside around 5 p.m. when a tan Honda Accord holding four or five Hispanic men approached and the occupants began shooting.
Schiralli said he did not know if the victim, who is in stable condition, was the intended target of the shooting or a bystander. He also did not know if the shooting was gang related.
After the victim was shot, Schiralli said, the car fled the scene. Police do not know the identities of the men in the car or what prompted the attack.
Anyone with information about the shooting can call investigators at 770-513-5300. The investigation is ongoing.
