Woman hit by gunfire during New Year's party
NORCROSS - A woman was shot in the wrist just after midnight Tuesday after watching a private fireworks display on Shenta Oak Drive in Norcross.
The woman told police she heard shots fired, but didn't see anyone shooting. She thought at first she had been hit by a spark from the fireworks, she said.
Home invaders beat victim
DULUTH - A New Year's Day invasion of a Davenport Drive home left a resident bleeding from head wounds and $20 poorer.
Two black men, one armed with a black semi-automatic handgun, entered the garage while the home's resident parked the car. One took $20 from the resident's wallet, then pistol whipped him in the head, police reports state.
The accused invaders are described as two black men of medium builds, one 20 to 25 and about 5 feet, 8 inches tall; the other 25 to 27 years old and about 6 feet, 3 inches tall.
Bullet hits house
SNELLVILLE - Shots were fired into an Emden Drive home Tuesday evening.
A shot went through a window and police recovered a casing from the floor. No one was injured.
Robbers break into apartments
NORCROSS - Two apartments at The Grove at Stonebrook complex on Beaver Ruin Road were broken into sometime between Monday and Wednesday.
Both owners came home to find their front doors kicked in. One resident lost a television set. The other resident had a dog in the house, which she believed scared off the robbers.
