Robbers take man's wallet

NORCROSS - A Norcross man told police he was robbed by three men with knives and a gun as he walked down the street.

The victim said the men - a Hispanic male and two "Chinese" men - pulled alongside him Sunday morning in a blue Honda Accord with a yellow hood as he was walking on South Norcross-Tucker Road.

The Hispanic man pointed a shotgun at the victim and said, "Give me your money," as another man exited the car and held a knife to the victim's throat, according to a Gwinnett police report.

The man offered his wallet, and his assailants drove away, the report says.

The victim described all three men as about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 150 pounds. They all wore dark blue jackets and black jeans, he said.

Man attacked while sleeping at home

NORCROSS - A spat between neighbors left a Norcross man seriously injured Sunday with a stab wound to his arm.

Ivan Miranda-Ortega, 24, was attacked in his bed Sunday morning by a Hispanic man who a witness said lives above the victim. The stabbing took place in the Oakbrook Pointe apartment complex off Pirkle Road.

A witness told police the suspect broke in through a back door. He is described as a Hispanic man about 6 feet tall with "curly hair and a white eye," according to a police report.

A responding officer checked the upstairs apartment but was unable to locate the man.

Police are unsure what spurred the confrontation.

No one injured in house fire

LAWRENCEVILLE - A neighbor alerted firefighters to a Lawrenceville home that was burning Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters found a small fire about 5:38 p.m. in a 2995 Paces Woods Drive home. No one was home at the time, and no injuries were reported, said Gwinnett County Fire Department spokesman Capt. Thomas Rutledge.

Firefighters had controlled the fire just before 6 p.m.

Rutledge said the fire caused moderate damage throughout the single-story, wood-frame structure.

The cause is under investigation, he said.
