Hooters benefit a boon for animal clinic

LAWRENCEVILLE - Rarely do scantily clad waitresses, scrumptious chicken wings and pet reproduction have anything in common.

Thank goodness.

But that all changes tonight during "Hooters for Neuters!" - a benefit for a Lawrenceville animal clinic that offers a low-cost means to keeping Gwinnett's pet population in check.

The event kicks off at 5 p.m. at Hooters of Lawrenceville, the wings-and-suds shack that abuts Ga. Highway 316 at 860 Duluth Highway.

Door proceeds go to Lawrenceville's Society of Humane Friends low cost spay/neuter clinic.

For a $5 cover charge, Hooters patrons can partake in the music of Stan Wilson and the Band (creators of the fittingly titled "Neuter That Boy" song) and a special appearance by the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club.

Expect a meet-and-greet with Gwinnett County Sheriff Butch Conway, a noted pet advocate.

The benefit concludes at 9 p.m.
