Guerra promoted to manager of Hampton Inn

BUFORD - Rosa Guerra, a 5-year employee of the Hampton Inn - Mall of Georgia, was recently promoted to general manager.

She will oversee all financial and management operations at the hotel, including hiring employees, team building and meeting budget goals.

Guerra earned a degree in tourism from the University of Nayarit in Mexico.

She brings more than 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry, including eight years with Hotel Equities, Hampton Inn's parent company. Guerra served as front desk agent, operations supervisor and night auditor. Most recently she served as operations manager at the Hampton Inn - Stone Mountain.

Hotel Equities is an Atlanta-based, full-scale hotel management, development and consulting firm.

Nordson launches online service center

DULUTH - Nordson Corporation has launched its new online adhesive systems parts and services center. The site at www.parts.nordson.com provides customers with a location to purchase Nordson parts, contact sales and service representatives, check sales order status and find technical and product information.

Nordson Corporation produces precision dispensing equipment that applies adhesives, sealants and coatings to consumer and industrial products during manufacturing operations.

John Willis Homes wins community service award

DULUTH - John Willis Homes, a Duluth-based custom homebuilder, recently won a silver award for the National Housing Endowment Builder Achievement Award for Outstanding Community Service.

John Willis Homes has assisted in the construction of two transitional housing facilities as well as a health clinic for homeless and at-risk people through HomeAid Atlanta. John Willis is a founding board member of HomeAid Atlanta.

The company will donate its $5,000 prize money to HomeAid Atlanta, a nonprofit organization that builds transitional housing for the homeless.

Cashman named Peak 10's virtual services manager

NORCROSS - Peak 10, a data center operator and managed services provider, recently named virtualization expert Bill Cashman, to serve as virtualized services manager. Cashman will be responsible for enhancing, implementing and delivering Peak 10's virtualized services while providing technical leadership, product management and sales support for the entire virtualized services department.

Cashman previously served as senior systems engineer at Peak 10 in Jacksonville, Fla.

Evergreen Group recognized

NORCROSS - Evergreen Partnering Group of Norcross was recognized Thursday by the State of Georgia for its commitment to protect and preserve Georgia's environment.

Evergreen Partnering Group works with schools to recycle used foam food service ware from cafeterias, which are then made into new environmentally friendly products and sold back to schools. Because of this commitment to the environment, Evergreen has been accepted into Partnership for a Sustainable Georgia, a state environmental leadership program.
