Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Augustus Howze III of Birmingham, Ala., announce the engagement of their daughter, Lelia Kate Howze of Atlanta, to William Mattison King of Berkeley Lake, son of the Rev. and Mrs. James M. King of Berkeley Lake.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Augustus Howze Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Billy Tom Burke. She is a 2002 graduate of Vestavia Hills High School in Birmingham, Ala., and a 2006 graduate of the University of Georgia, where she received a bachelor's degree in journalism. She is employed by Manning, Selvage and Lee public relations firm.
The future groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John Robert King Sr. of Belton, S.C., and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Floye Coates. He is a 2001 graduate of Duluth High School and a 2005 graduate of the University of Georgia, where he received a bachelor's degree in speech communications. He is attending Mercer University, where he is pursuing a master's of divinity degree. He is employed as a youth minister at Parkway Baptist Church in Duluth.
The wedding is planned for May 17 at the Chapel at the University of Georgia.
