Stacy Johnson, age 88, of Stone Mountain, GA, formerly of Snellville, GA, died February 21, 2008. He is survived by his daughter, Susan J. Davis of Braselton; son, Stacy Warren Johnson of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; granddaughter, Jessica Weathers of Oakwood; great grandsons, Ashton Weathers and Mikale Weathers, both of Oakwood; and other relatives in his birthplace of Sampson County, North Carolina, particularly his beloved nieces, Nancy, Doris and Marilyn. Mr. Johnson graduated from the University of North Carolina and earned a masters degree from the Toronto School of Hospital Administration. His education was interrupted by WWII where he served with the 8th Air Force. He was shot down over Germany in 1944 and remained a POW until his liberation on April 29, 1945. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, 4 Air Medals and a Purple Heart. Stacy and his family moved to the Atlanta area in 1966, where he helped direct the Medicare and Medicaid programs for eight southeastern states until his retirement in 1980. He was a long-standing member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. Dad will be greatly missed by his family, his circle of longtime friends affectionately known as the “Dirty Dozen” and all who had the honor of his acquaintance. A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, February 24, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Rev. Mike Garret and Rev. Don Wade officiating. Interment will be at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4:00 until 7:00 at the funeral home. Tom M.
