CASES - ACTION TAKEN: The following action was taken by the Gwinnett Planning Commission on Jan. 15. Those zoning requests not tabled will be forwarded with a recommendation to the County Commission for a final vote Feb. 26 at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center.

1. Denied: A requested rezoning from low-density residential to commercial for .64 acres east of Sugar Hill to be developed as a contractor's office. The property is at the 4200 block of Westbrook Road. The applicant and owners are Terry and Chansamone Rathmann, Suwanee. RZC-08-007

2. Tabled to Feb. 19: A requested rezoning from low-density residential to commercial for 3.2 acres north of Lawrenceville to be developed as a drug store and strip center. 5. Tabled to April 15: A requested rezoning from low-density residential to high-density multi-family residential for 29.72 acres south of Sugar Hill to be developed as 378 apartments. The property is at the 900-1200 block of Satellite Boulevard. The applicant is Davis Development, Stockbridge, and the owner is George Vincent West, Atlanta. RZM-08-003

6. Tabled to Feb. 19: A requested rezoning from low-density residential to senior-oriented development for 8.76 acres east of Lawrenceville to be developed as 33 senior-oriented residences. The property is at the 1100 block of Alcovy Road. The applicant is Christopher Albright, Virginia Beach, Va., and the owner is Albright Hershel Development, Norfolk, Va. RZM-08-005

7. Approved with conditions: A requested change in conditions for 12.59 acres east of Snellville to allow a buffer reduction and limit inter parcel access. The property is at the 3200-3300 block of Lake Carlton Road, the 600-700 block of Midway Road and the 3400 block of Palmer Drive. 8. Approved with conditions: A requested change in conditions for 10.22 acres south of Norcross to allow the reduction of the minimum house size, changed architectural treatments and an increased number of single-car garages. The property is at the 1200 block of Commercial Court. The applicant and owner is J-Squared Inc., Tucker. CIC-08-005

9. Approved with conditions: A requested change in conditions for 20.45 acres south of Auburn to allow larger homes, a change in homeowners association requirements, direct lot access to Hayes Road, eliminate a fence requirement and remove a landscape entrance design requirement.. The property is at the 500 block of Hayes Road. The applicant is Chuck Warbington, Dacula, and the owner is Hayes Road Development, Buford. CIC-08-006
