Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, Georgia announces the death of Mrs. Ninnie Ragan Langford, age 92, of Pendergrass, who passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2008. She was born on April 26, 1915, in Jackson County, a daughter to the late Mr. Walter Lee Ragan and the late Mrs. Annie Hitchcock Ragan. Mrs. Langford taught School , was a graduate of Young Harris College, a faithful member of Holly Springs United Methodist Church where she served as Treasurer and was a Sunday School teacher for over 50 years, and was active in UMW. She was a partner in the H.A. Langford General Merchandise Store for 67 years and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt Langford, and her brothers, Lester Ragan, Otis Ragan, Harry Ragan and Robert Ragan. Survivors include daughters, Martha (Jimmy) Thurman, Carrollton, Shelby (Bob) Hicks, Neptune Beach, FL, Dorothy (Louis) Luckey, Lawrenceville, Carol Anglin, Pendergrass; brothers, J.D. Ragan, Gainesville and Sam Ragan of Clarkesville; 10 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at 11:00AM in the Holly Springs United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Fish and Rev. Dr. James W. Thurman Jr. officiating. The body will lie in state at 10:30AM on Wednesday in the church and the burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Thurman. Steve Hicks, Ragan Hicks, Kevin Hicks, Brandon Anglin, Dwight Langford, Bill Sanders and Randy Ragan. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-7pm at the funeral home.
