LAWRENCEVILLE - Loganville police are looking for a man who robbed a Wachovia bank Friday afternoon.
The man, who took an undetermined amount of money, was described as a black male about 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds. He was wearing a black leather jacket, dark pants, a light-colored button-down shirt, a black leather Irish-style golf cap and black sunglasses, according to Loganville Police Detective Angel Smith. He is between 30 and 40 years old.
Loganville Police Chief Mike McHugh said witnesses said a black woman was also involved in the robbery, but did not enter the bank. He said there is no description of the woman and that police did not know how the pair left the scene.
"He did not display a weapon," McHugh said. "He handed the cashier a note that said, 'If you do as I ask, nobody would be hurt.'"
McHugh said the Federal Bureau of Investigation has been contacted about the robbery, which occurred at 1:55 p.m. The Wachovia is located on U.S. Highway 78.
Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to call Sgt. Mike Westbrooks or Detective Smith at 770-464-0310.
