Bill W. Parker, age 84, of Buford passed away on Monday, December 29th, 2008. He went home to be with the family that has gone on before him. Mr. Parker was born on August 26, 1924 in Oglethorpe, GA to the late Robert and Lula Parker. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Helen and Linda Parker. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Margaret C. Parker, of 62 years. His sons and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Phyllis Parker, Flowery Branch, GA, Joey Parker, Buford, GA, daughters and son-in-law, Ms. Christine Parker, Buford, GA, Ms. Mary Elizabeth Silver, Pine Knot, KY, Kerri and Lee Lawson, Buford, GA. Mr. Parker was blessed to leave behind 5 generations. He had 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren. Mr. Parker was the co-founder and oldest member of Rock of Christ Baptist Church. He worked for The Buford Tannery many years till there closing and retired from Lazy Day Marina in Buford. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, hunting, fishing and family reunions. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Crocker, Rev. Gary Carlyle and Rev. Michael Green officiating. Burial will be at Shoal Creek Baptist Church. Family will receive family and friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Arrangements by: Junior E.
