Owner: Duluth resident Cindy Lu was a server at Emerald China for 10 years before taking over the restaurant four years ago.

Atmosphere: The restaurant's decor reflects its name: the carpeting, walls and booths are shades of emerald green. Table seating is also available, and guests can enjoy their meals seated beside a large mural that depicts a waterfall.

Menu: Emerald China offers Cantonese-style Chinese dishes with bold flavors. Popular lunch items include the Mongolian beef and sesame chicken, while dinner guests frequently enjoy the Canton stir fry - a mix of seafood, meats and traditional Chinese vegetables in brown sauce served over lightly fried noodles - and the crispy salted fried shrimp. Guests can also enjoy specialty dishes, including the stir fry chicken and mushroom and grouper filet with green beans.

Things you might not know: The executive chefs and sous chef at Emerald China have been with the restaurant since it opened.
