Verlon Thomas Whitley Sr. and Alice Rolander Whitley of Simpsonville, S.C., celebrated their 50th wedding annniversary on Nov. 1. The couple was married in 1958 at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Tucker.
He is retired from General Electric, and she has worked as a secretary for NYS schools and as an administrative assistance/ accountant for Carolina Springs Golf Club in Fountain Inn, S.C. The couple has 3 children and 5 grandchildren. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with the original wedding party and family at a luncheon hosted by their children and grandchildren. It was held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, the same location as the wedding 50 years ago.More like this story
